Explore Your World Day

One of Herefordshire's smaller primary schools had a big day last week when almost 30 local businesses visited them to show the children the wide variety of jobs and careers present within a few miles of their homes.
Explore your World Day 2007 was organised by the governors of Peterchurch Primary School to thank pupils for their hard work at School.
This year's event, the first of what is planned as a regular feature of the school calendar, took the theme of golden careers in the Golden Valley, and was designed to show the children that it is possible to pursue all sorts of careers in the area without having to go away from where they've grown up.
"We were very pleased with how the every went. Everyone we were expecting came and all the children had a chance to see every exhibitor," said Karen Usher, chair of the governors. "It was a brilliant day, a real community event."
