The Golden Valley Pyramid of Schools believes that through respect, truth, honesty, courtesy and sensitivity towards others, caring communities will evolve which will enable individuals to meet the wider social demands of adult life.
In order to achieve this all members of the school community are expected and encouraged to:
• respect others as individuals of worth with opinions, regardless of race, colour, creed, or any other difference, attitudes and belief that may not always be the same as our own.;
• always treat others as you expect them to treat you, without causing any unnecessary distress, harm or neglect as bullying of any sort is not acceptable;
• be honest at all times as we cannot live and work together if we cannot trust each other;
• take care of personal and others' property and the school environment;
• be open when dealing with problems, sharing them with others who could help to resolve the difficulty and support the individual;
• develop positive and confident attitudes to self and others, being quicker to encourage than to condemn;
• show courtesy to all others in both word and action; foul, aggressive and insulting language to others is never acceptable;
• take pride in work, presentation of self and the surrounding environment;
• work and play co-operatively;
• always be willing to give of one's best;
• develop self-discipline in all aspects of school life;
• try to remain calm when presented with difficulties, dealing quietly with confrontation;
• offer a good model of behaviour.
