Welcome to Fireflies Class!
Fireflies class is our year 5 children. Here you will find important information about our class.

Timetable
PE will be twice a week throughout the year, children should bring their kits to school on their given day (which will be shared with parents) and on Fridays, all children can wear their PE kit to school, including a PE jumper. For the first half of the Autumn Term and the whole Summer Term all children will be swimming. Throughout the year we will also participate in Forest School.
Homework
Reading books - We regard reading as high importance at Peterchurch and encourage children to read to an adult at home at least 5 times a week. This should then be recorded in their reading record and signed. Children who meet this expectation will have an additional play once a week, where children who need to catch up on their reading will have the opportunity to do so.
Spellings will be uploaded on to EdShed for children to practise during the week . These spellings will be tested on a Friday
Maths work - Children will be set some maths homework either on Maths shed or on Times tables Rockstars. Each child should now have their log in information stuck into their reading record.
Snack and Drink
Children are welcome to bring in their own snack, in keeping with our Healthy Schools approach to have at breaktime. It is important that children stay well hydrated during the day so please make sure they have a water bottle in school everyday.
Outdoor Clothes and Footwear
With the on-going building work it is essential that children have a pair of wellies and a waterproof coat in school everyday. This will enable them to enjoy outside break in appropriate clothing as it is very muddy!
