Music is a vital part of creativity and allows children to express themselves, raise confidence levels and can accelerate brain development. Here at Peterchurch we include music across the curriculum in a variety of ways from Reception through to Year 6.
Children are given the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments with Mrs Houlbrooke, our music specialist, who visits weekly. She delivers a singing assembly to the school and offers ukulele lessons for pupils in Key Stage 2.
Mr Gray provides guitar and drum lessons on an individual and group basis.
We are very fortunate to have a School Choir, who perform at local community events including St Peter’s Church, the Community Centre as well as at our whole school concerts. Our Choir rehearses each week after school. We enjoy singing a range of songs from around the world. In 2018, we entered the Sunshine Radio Starlight Star Bright Competition and achieved a place in the top 3 schools from around the county.
