Peterchurch Primary School

Online Safety

Early use of digital technology has been shown to improve language skills and promote children’s social development and creativity. It is therefore an important part of the curriculum which we aim to utilize in school and at home. Online safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Peterchurch Primary School. We understand the importance of teaching children to access the online world safely. Online safety is taught through computing lessons, assemblies and focused dates (Safer Internet Day).

Furthermore, children are safeguarded against potential online dangers with our extensive security measures and the use of 365 accounts to monitor access to online material.

In order to protect children at Peterchurch Primary School it is also important for this message to be continued at home. Please take time to monitor your child’s use of online material and discuss how to remain safe online. The following websites may be useful to you to support your child with their Online Safety.

While tech and connectivity are critical to children’s futures, their use should never come at the expense of their safety or wellbeing. We have received the following guidance from EE which we would like to share with you as children are becoming increasingly active on mobile devices. Please read the attached letter for guidance on your child's online safety and device settings.
